I'm sorry to hear about your miscarriage. If it was just last week and you haven't had a negative pregnancy test since, this is almost certainly HCG left from the pregnancy - it can take a while to drop down enough for a test to be negative (for me it was 3 weeks before I got a negative test after miscarrying). I'd test again in another week's time.

Yes I’d say it’s too soon, you can still get a positive pregnancy test for up to 4 weeks after miscarriage. I’m sorry OP x

How far along were you?
I had a miscarriage in August, I was 10 weeks. My epu monitors HCG post miscarriage. Initially after 48h but then every week. It took 2 and a bit weeks for my levels to be 25ish. They usually monitored until below 20 so they said wait a week and do a pregnancy test. If it was positive they would run another test. I did a test at 3 weeks post miscarriage and it was negative. My HCG started at 17000 so it took sometime to come down. It should half every 48h or thereabouts.

I was 8 or 12 weeks I think

That's peak HCG levels they could have been 10k-20k+ potentially 100k+
Let's say they were 10000 it would take 18 days to get below a detectible level. I would wait until 2.5-3 weeks post miscarriage and test again

It can take at least 3 weeks to get a negative pregnancy test post miscarriage, sometimes longer. I was advised to wait 3 weeks before testing at all. Leave it another 2 weeks and test again, if that one's positive contact your GP as could indicate retained tissue. I'm sorry for your loss.
