HCG didn’t double

this is my first pregnancy and at the time of my blood work I was 5 weeks and 2 days.. I had blood work on October 16th for hcg. It was 3702.. then I had a recheck of hcg on October 18th and sadly it did not double. It only went up 72% to 6393.. I know there are such thing as miracles but my heart is very heavy and I’m very upset . Has anyone had this occur but pregnancy ended ok? My husband’s trying his best to be positive but I just can’t.

It’s been a while since I was pregnant but don’t they say it should ‘roughly’ double? I thought anything over 65% was OK.

I think that’s absolutely fine, I had an IVF pregnancy so was super anxious every step of the way.
We paid for private HCG bloods, they increased just 68%. I was beside myself and convinced myself that it was far too low and that the worst would happen.
Fast forward 14 months and I now have a very handsome, healthy 7 month old little boy. X

I haven’t spoke to my doctor yet bc the blood work was done on Friday . She said if anything out of the ordinary she will call Monday. I’m trying to stay off Google but my anxiety won’t let me. Hoping what you said is the case!

It’s just roughly - it doesn’t have to be exact OP.

On the other hand I’ve had miscarriages where it has more than doubled - so this isn’t the black and white indicator that you are worrying about.

Breathe deep, try and sleep a while.

I also think it's fine!
