Missing growth scan because of cold

Hi, I am going to have a 28 week growth scan scheduled for tomorrow, but I came down with a cold today (or flu/covid, but i got the vaccines for those on the 9th of October ).

I am feeling rather under the weather with a nasty cough and have a mild high temperature, so I was thinking it is best to cancel my appointment tomorrow.

Does anyone had to reschedule any of their appointment and how quickly it was rescheduled? (I was looking forward to the scan to make sure baby is growing all right, because I am a bit higher risk of growth restriction)

What time is your appointment tomorrow?
Can you ring them first thing and ask them what's best to do? They might still be happy for you to go in (if you are). You could also wear a mask. I think it depends how ill you are really, and your own medical history / reason for the growth scan.

I think if I had a temperature I'd stay at home, unless it was very important to be seen this week. I rescheduled an early scan (7 weeks, pushed back to 8 weeks - IVF pregnancy) as I had COVID and didn't want to make any of the staff or people in the waiting room ill. It was really hard waiting for that extra week as I had slow rising HCG and was expecting to miscarry (fortunately that didn't happen).

@Lucylaughing I agree with you, I think I will do that.

My appointment is early in the morning

I would call first thing and ask, but I had a lot of scans in my pregnancy and they were often arranged for the next day. I’m sure it depends by area though.

I had to cancel and reschedule my first growth scan at 28 weeks as I had an event on the day of the scan that I could not move. I called them up and they rebooked me for the following week. They said as long as the scan was during that week it was fine. But I did call as soon as the letter came through a few weeks in advance. I'm sure if you call first thing they will rebook you. I can't imagine you're the first person to be poorly on the day. I hope all goes well when you have your scan ☺️

So I called in and they recommended to come in and wear a mask, so that is what I did. Little girl is doing much better than her momma.
