Pregnancy rash - what is this?

Hi all

I'm 14+3 weeks pregnant. Have been on prednisolone as part of an ivf immune protocol from embryo transfer to 12 weeks, then started weaning off, until 13 +3 weeks.

The past week I have developed a rash on my elbows which started as little red raised spots, also small amounts on knees and ankles but less noticeable. I have never had eczema before. Could this be a withdrawal from prednisone?

is it eczema or something else?

I am going to speak to gp tomorrow but wondered if anyone else had experienced this with pregnancy.

also worried about baby ..

thoughts and experiences really welcome .

I am a midwife and have never seen anything like this before. I have also taken a lot of courses of high dose pred and also not had the rash. It is a definite GP one I think.

Is it itchy at all? Weepy?

Psoriasis?
Dermatitis herpetiformis? If it's insanely itchy

Possibly shingles, but it wouldn't normally be knees and elbows?

@EinsteinsFineWine @UpUpUpU Thanks both. Yes it has been itchy. I've been applying hydrocortisone the last couple of days which has helped slightly with the redness and itching.

not weepy as yet, but I guess it's still early days.

@UpUpUpU do you think I should be worried about baby? X
