Early movements - normal to not feel much for a few days?

I’m 16 weeks with baby 2. First baby was over 3 years ago so I’m struggling to remember what’s normal 😅 I’ve been able to feel this baby since 14 weeks, mostly rolling and some little kicks. Felt like I was feeling them a good few times a day, but last few days seems a lot less. It’s normal for movement to be really inconsistent to start with isn’t it? I know you’re not meant to count kicks until 28 weeks, but just wanted to check that once you start feeling them move, is it normal to have a few days of not much at all?

Yes I think so! I felt my first at 19 weeks when I was sitting on a plane about to fly off on holiday. I didn't feel her again for a whole week and remember feeling really anxious during that holiday. Similar with my second.

Wow this is so early I didn't have regularly movements or rolls or anything I'd really notice until 27 weeks. I can Safely say my baby is sure making up for it! The movements are so strong and regular. It's lovely 😍
Anyway if I were you qt this stage go.off instinct, baby's sleep alot in there and can be very relaxed. Go off how you feel and never hesitate to get checked if you feel you need to. I'm carrying a first baby so your experience of having x2 far outweighs my advice but wanted to reply with "what I would do" 🙂🙂 xx

Yes it's normal at this stage. I think it's because they are so tiny still that they can easily change positions or curl up somewhere more 'hidden' which will completely change what you can feel.
The general advice about 28 weeks is because by the 3rd trimester, there is alot less space to do that so movements should be more consistent.

Yea totally normal, with both my first and current pregnancy I got first movement around this stage and then would go days with nothing, it always worried me but I tried to tell myself they are still really small and have just moved. It’s so reassuring when they are bigger and movement is more constant.

Thanks everyone ☺️ just funny having had a couple of weeks of feeling baby several times a day, to hardly at all. As you have all said though, baby is maybe facing with legs inwards or something. Last week I was mostly feeling kicks on my left side, this week my right, and now not much for a few days. I felt my first at 16 weeks, so I do seem to generally feel movement quite early on. Hopefully baby will move around a bit more today 🤞🏼
