Do test lines always get darker?

I’m 17DPO today, been having cramps and spotting for 2 days, been told by EPU to keep doing tests for another week to check all still positive. But the last 3 days my lines don’t seem to be getting darker at all? I don’t think they are getting lighter either. But at this point (my period would have been 2 days late now) i would have thought the test line would be super dark? As it was with my first!!
So i just wanted to ask is that always the case? Or are the lines telling me something along with these cramps? 😣😣

Some do and some don't and it depends on how much you drank too and the day before x

@WiseDog thank you i know it’s a hard one to know. Just wondered if some people’s line didn’t get as dark as control and still had good pregnancy. I am always testing using FMU so to make sure i get an accurate reading on all. I suppose only time will tell!

Just my experience but I took a couple and then another one at what would be around 5wks out of interest and it was still so faint! Mine never got dark and I'm 26 weeks with a healthy baby :)

Tests aren't designed to be used like this. The whole line progression thing is just waffle. You've had a positive test, so you're pregnant. Try and step away from them now. Appreciate the anxiety but repeat testing honestly tells you nothing.
