Bleeding for weeks in early pregnancy

Hi everyone,

I'm currently 7w + 4 and I've been bleeding since 5w +6. It started with pink spotting, then brown, then bright red, then light bleeding enough for me to have to wear a pad.
I went to EPU for a scan last week and the sonographer said she could see the bleed in my cervix and that my cervix was open but failed to explain what that meant even after me questioning.
Baby had a heartbeat and everything else was fine, she said if I'm bleeding it means I have a threatened miscarriage and that I should pray everything goes well....
Obviously I left very confused and in tears but happy the pregnancy was viable.
They told me to come back if I bleed more than a 2 pound coin(which I was already bleeding more than that and she could see!!!).
Anyways yesterday I started bleeding more than the last days and I have now booked a private consultation for next week with a gynecologist to get some answers as the hospital experience was not great...
Has anyone been told a similar thing (cervix open) or had consistent bleeding for weeks.
I've always had very heavy periods and I'm starting to feel like bleeding is my curse 😥

Hi, I am 7 weeks pregnant. At 6 weeks I had some red light bleeding. NHS 111 sent to me to A and E and I was examined and told I was having a miscarriage as my cervix is open and this is my first pregnancy. Had a scan the next day and the pregnancy looked fine and in the right place. I had no bleeding for a week until yesterday, I had some brown light bleeding again and mild cramps. I have a scan next week so hoping all is well and there is a heartbeat. I hope for the best for you, it’s such an emotionally draining time waiting for answers x

Wow I can't believe they said you're having a miscarriage at the a&e.
I feel like there is not much tact sometimes.
I did a deep dive into the cervix thing after what I was told and I read that sometimes the cervix takes longer time to get into position for some women, so I'm hoping that maybe that's it and nothing more serious.
I hope for the best of you too x 🙏🏻
