Discomfort 24 weeks

Hi ladies, I'm 24 weeks tomorrow and so uncomfortable. Just usual pregnancy stuff, just all seems to be happening a lot sooner with this one than I remember from my previous pregnancy (7 years ago). Is there any way I can ease the discomfort from constantly needing to pee? I'm not sleeping at night because of it, waking at 5am from it and not being able to get back to sleep, so I'm absolutely shattered all day, but unable to nap because of it. Sounds so dramatic but I'm genuinely so uncomfortable and the sleep thing is really affecting my ability to function.. just taking it's toll now. I don't know if there's actually any answers or if I just need to moan and hear from others in the same boat!

Just to add, it's also I can't go no2, I've been told to drink more water which I do, but haven't been able to go properly in weeks. The whole thing is just really affecting my mood and I'm just struggling.

Get some lactolose from your Dr/chemist and start eating prunes and drinking LOADS of water - the lactolose got me started going and the prunes are keeping me more regular.

I also take a magnesium tablet on a night which helps with sleep and makes you poo, it draws water into the poo though so you really need to drink a lot.

If you are bunged up with poo that's going to make your bladder irritated and not help with the peeing issue!
Get some lactulose and/or movicol ASAP, you can buy both over the counter and they are both safe in pregnancy. I would go in heavy until you are going more regularly.

I've been drinking so much water, I'm going to go to the chemist tomorrow and get the things you've both suggested, thank you!

Peppermint tea seems to help me go to the loo - maybe try that? It’s good for digestion generally but it’s helped me when I’ve been a little backed up.
With the night pees - I tend to drink my water in the day time and stop at about 8ish apart from the odd sip (I drink 4 litres of water a day). It has helped to stop me going to the loo every 5 mins in the night - I’ll still need the one or two and I still have insomnia (im 26 weeks now) but it’s definitely less annoying!

Hope it improves soon - the lack of sleep really kills you in pregnancy!
