My dd is 16 months old and will start ttc in the next couple of months for baby no 2. However, I am a bit nervous about being pregnant again. I had horrendous sickness that started at about 7 weeks and stopped the day after I delivered. I puked for Britain - I felt truly awful - a good day was being sick 1-2 times a bad one 6,7,8 + I also had tightenings from 25 weeks and could barely walk to the kitchen and back without tightening like mad - I'd either have to lie very still and wait for them to go or sometimes they wouldn't go and I'd have another hospital admission for drugs etc.

I'm not usually a wimp - I was a marathon runner before pregnancy and despie not having any pain relief I found labour actually quite enjoyable and interesting! .

Did anyone else have a crap pregnancy and then go on to have another that was ok? Or was it just as bad? Or eek worse??

my second was better than my first,
but my first wasn't anywhere near as bad as yours

i had a horrendous pregnancy with DS (had large cyst and ovary removed during pregnancy) and this pregnancy has been a breeze so far. totally different and completely stress free. think also because i am running round after DS i dont have time to consider if i feel tired/sick/unwell.

I had a shit first pregnancy - this one is much better.

I still vomited a lot to start with, but at least I knew it would stop eventually.

I'm also a lot more skeptical with the medics (which helps avoid the majority of the poking.)

Oh and I have the distraction of an 18 month old legging it around so I'm not sitting around worrying (which honestly helps!)

I was sick as hell both times, sorry! Think it was a bit worse second time as I was more tired.several people told me that you are sicker with girls, don't know if that is true.Oh well..the payoff was worth it!

Also sick as hell right up to going into labour. Both boys.

Hmmm 'labour quite enjoyable' I had long drawn out and traumatic after my 9 months of vomiting, heartburn, nosebleed and leg cramp hell. So no I won't be having any more children. Ever.

Can I just say though that I have since heard fil saying that I 'make a fuss' about pregnancy and giving birth just because both sils had easy times!!!!!
