Anomaly scan - different dates depending on country?

Hi
I am northern Irish living in France, currently 20 weeks. I read the NHS and Tommy’s websites so I get my pregnancy info in English and it says that the fœtal anomaly scan is offered in UK between 18 and 21 weeks. Here though I have my appointment in three weeks so I’ll be between 23 and 24 weeks.
I’m very nervous about this scan as my previous pregnancy ended in TFMR for a brain abnormality that was discovered during the anomaly scan.
I would almost like to try and reschedule for sooner to get it out of the way but imagine the consultant wouldn’t want to if that’s the way things are done here.

I wonder why there is this difference in dates depending on the country?
I would have imagined the ideal time to do it is calculated according to the best available info/latest scientific research out there which is not country-specific…

how many scans and when will you have before this one in France?

I had the 12 week scan already and have also had a few impromptu ones when I went to see the doctor for some spotting, he did a quick ultrasound to check the baby but didn’t take any detailed measurements.

I will also have a third trimester scan but don’t have the exact date yet

Does France offer TFMR?
If not, that could be why it's so close to the 24 weeks.
Or maybe they offer it after the 24 weeks which is why it doesn't matter that it's close to 24 weeks.
My 20 week scan in Northern Ireland is Monday

I'm so nervous 😬

so you have had almost a handful of scans

in the UK you wouldn’t get one for spotting

especially if had happened a few times and scans revealed nothing wrong

Hi OP, I had my babies in France and the second trimester scan was supposed to be at 22 weeks. I actually had it at 21 weeks with DS and the sonographer commented that it was a little earlier than is ideal.
