Brown spotting at 6w+4

Hi ladies, this is my first post and I’m hoping I can get some help. I am currently 6w 4 days pregnant with my first. Everything has gone well so far. I had a private reassurance scan on Thursday which confirmed baby is healthy, growing and we got to see a heartbeat too. She managed to see baby and heartbeat with a normal over the tummy ultrasound, but ended up going internal as I needed to empty my bladder pretty shortly after my appointment. The day after my appointment I noticed some brown spotting. It was very out of the blue, and typically it was at 8pm on a Friday which was out of hours for calling the early pregnancy midwife hotline. I freaked out SO much I can’t even begin to tell you. I ended up going to A&E, but the wait time was 10 hours and I could get a private scan for 10am the next day so I ended up going home and booking the 10am scan. The scan the next day again confirmed baby is healthy and has a heartbeat of 165 which is strong. They couldn’t find any active bleeds and said it was most likely cervical irritation.

Anyway, I know I should listen to the specialists but I am really suffering with terrible anxiety. I am still spotting, it’s now Sunday. I have extremely mild cramping which comes and goes but it’s not enough to alarm me and is barely noticeable tbh. The spotting is VERY light, I only see it if I wear white underwear.

Anyway, my question is, should I listen to the doctor from yesterday and just chill out and hope it will pass? Or shall I push for bloods to be taken tomorrow and try and get more answers as to why this is happening?

Any help would be amazing. Thanks xx

Images for context! The spotting as you can see has decreased a lot, it’s just discolouration now but I’m still concerned.

Sorry to hear your stressed. You’ve had an internal which will irritate the cervix and has most likely caused the spotting. It’s not got worse nor is fresh red blood. You’ve also been told by professionals, you’ve had a scan since and it’s all good and it’s stopping. Tbh I don’t know what other reassurance you can get. This is all super positive and should put your mind at rest

Thanks for this, you’re right, my husband keeps saying the same. I am just an incredibly anxious person and feel so overwhelmed every time I see more spotting or feel more cramps so keep looking for reassurance anywhere that I can. I know Google is my worst enemy, I’ve seen a few things about pushing for bloods to be taken as hormone levels could be low etc. It’s my own brain that is my worst enemy! Also interesting to know about the internal. The person who did my first scan never mentioned this could cause spotting, but I did wonder!
