Hi all

i’m wondering if any of you have ever successfully managed to get referred to your mental health midwife team through the nhs during your pregnancy?

i’ve just entered my 3rd trimester and have been incredibly depressed since i first fell pregnant. Suffering with HG, anxiety and just all round feel so low

I finally told the midwife this during an appointment where I just broke down approx 7 weeks ago. She said she’d refer me to the MH team, but I haven’t heard a peep from anyone since. Was back for another appt 2 weeks ago and she said she’d chase them, again heard nothing

She suggested I get in touch with my GP to go via them for IAPTS, which I have done before a few years ago and it wasnt helpful at all

I feel so incredibly alone, I honestly feel as though i’m dying. Pregnancy just ravages my body and its like nobody is listening or cares

I’m now 31 weeks

Thanks so much

You can probably self refer - that’s what our local trust has in place and our teams suggested others are going down this route

Try Googling some thing like (local name) talking therapies. you should be more of a priority prenatally
