Low posterior placenta

I have had my long awaited 20 week scan today and I must say it was very exciting.

The sonography has also mentioned that my placenta is low posterior.

I just want to know what peoples' experiences have been like with this? Are you still able to go full term? Does it come with more symptoms?

Basically, what should I be expecting?

Btw, the sonographer did tell me that this can change since the uterus is growing. I have another scan booked at 34 weeks to check this.

It should say on your notes how near it is. Most move up, some don't.
If it is still low further along into your pregnancy have a bag packed because it'll be delivery or bed rest if there's any large bleeds. And don't go too far from a hospital. I had my first prematurely after the consultant confidently told me it'd move up and was not very prepared to say the least!

34 weeks seems late for the next scan but perhaps yours isn't anywhere near. I'd ask though if unsure.
