Nausea in 1st Trimester

I’m 11 weeks today and am in my 6th week of nausea and sickness. The majority of the days I have to lay flat on the sofa and can only keep down toast and some fruits. I’ve never been so unwell in my life, I just want to cry and for it all to be over!! When does this type of nausea and sickness seem to end!?

It usually ends around 12 weeks, for some it lasts longer. I would contact GP if it stays the same or gets worse OP. It isn't something you need to put up with.

Thank you! I’ve been to the GP and Early Pregnancy Clinic as it’s been insufferable. I’ve been given Ondansetron 24 hours ago so hoping that’ll work but I’m struggling so much!

It's varied. It could go in the next few weeks as it does for most women or unfortunately it could go on for longer. In my first pregnancy I had It from 6-14 weeks then 16 weeks then 26-36 weeks baby born at 38 weeks
Pregnancy 2 I had it from 6 weeks until 11 weeks, I had a miscarriage at 10 weeks and thought it was most cruel of it to linger!
I found beige food harder to eat and was better with fresh foods. With my daughter it was tinned peaches and with my second pregnancy cherry tomatoes and celery. I found smoothies easier than water as they were a bit thicker and had some flavour. I get an aversion to the taste of water which doesn't help!

I am also 11 weeks and only the past few days the sickness has lessened. I take one sickness tablet every morning. I was prescribed xonvea and that has definitely taken the edge off for me. Before I was prescribed these 2 weeks ago I felt like I couldn’t cope with feeling so rubbish anymore. It completely took over my life! If your new medication doesn’t work go back to your gp and ask for something else to try 👍🏻 we can do this xx

Hi OP. I had awful nausea since before a positive pregnancy test until just after 14 weeks. I was prescribed medication but don't recall it made a massive difference unfortunately. I had my 12 week scan at 14+2 then seems to remember the nausea just disappeared a couple of days after as if someone flipped a switch. It was the longest few weeks of my life and all I could stomach was cream of chicken soup. Hoping it clears for you soon 🤞
