Maternity Pay - OMP, SMP, confused!!

I am trying to work out what I will receive, HR here do not really help with a breakdown other than OMP.

On the policy it says I am entitled to 14 weeks of my average pay less maternity benefit. Does this mean less SMP?

After the 14 weeks can I apply for SMP for the remainder of the leave until it cannot be paid anymore?

What is your mat policy like?

Yes and No (SMP will be paid automatically if you are entitled to it). Don't forget to hand in your MATB1 form to employer.

Give you matb1 to your employer.

for the first 14 weeks it sounds like you’ll have full pay, made up of your occupational portion and smp (around 184/week at the moment).

after that you’re entitled to an additional 25 weeks of smp (39 weeks in total).

do have a look at shared parental leave and your partners policy as well if that’s of interest; the leave and pay could be shared between you

you’re entitled to 52 weeks of leave.
