Hi everyone,

I had awful sickness with my first baby back in 2022, bed bound from 6/7weeks - 22weeks. Was in for iv drips pretty much every few days. After about a year of contemplating we have decided to go ahead with baby no2. Currently 6 weeks 3 days pregnant and anxiously waiting. I’ve heard a few positive stories of no sickness after having HG but can’t help but be worried. I went to the doctors a couple of days ago and got prescribed cyclizine as a precaution, also heard taking them before you need them can prevent it getting terrible. Just any recommendations on things that helped or positive stories of having it then not having it again! The past week I have felt nauseous but nothing I can’t handle! Thank you x

Congratulations on your pregnancy!
I don't think there's anything you can do to stop it other than meds if it's going to be severe, but you can get yourself in the best place nutritionally before any vomiting starts, so make sure you are eating really well, try and get really good portions in whilst you can

Taking meds from point of bfp does help to keep meds down and make you feel better I get the severe end of hg so the nausea did wipe me out still had the vomiting but I could eat foods and keep some meals down I have read a lot online in terms of research and personal accounts and Prednisolone seems to help I have currently been given it for recurrent miscarriage but I did buy some additional on a private prescription
