Does anyone know why they say to not use the first urine of the day? Just curious.

You can do. I think it’s because they say in general the lh can build up through the early hours. I used to think that means the peak tends to happen later in the day eg 10am-5pm however after testing for a few months mine varied. I used to test at 10am and 5pm, but the last few cycles I tested at 8am and 7pm. Sometimes I would see the peak on the 8am and sometimes it would appear in the evening.

Testing twice a day is good. If your peak then was going to come later in the day you would still pick it up on that 5-8pm test. If you only test once a day at 7/8am there is a small chance you completely miss your peak (everyone is different on how long your peak stays for). Eg it rises by midday, then by 7am the next morning it’s dropped again.

Good luck.

LH levels build throughout the day.

We used these strips and found them useful. When it was around ovulation time I would use them a few times a day to make sure I got the peak.
