Mental health appointment with obstetrician

Hi,

I have been given a telephone appointment with an obstetrician just before I have my 16 week midwife appointment. They mentioned it was something to do with mental health but did not give much infomation.

Is it normal to have a mental health appointment with an obstetrician, and what sort of things will they ask at the appointment?

Do you have any history of mental illness? I'm bipolar so in pregnancy I automatically get referred to the obstetrician with a specialism in maternal mental health.
For me they reassure me about the benefits of staying on medication, check my mood in pregnancy and discuss referrals to the perinatal mental team. I'm very high risk of severe mental health episodes in pregnancy and perinatally so get referrals as a precaution rather than waiting for my mental health to decline.
They check on physical symptoms and the impact they have on my wellbeing too
