Hi all - so I got my HGC levels back of 1828 - is this a good result? I’m currently 4 weeks and 6 days

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

@Claire5884 Hi! I don’t think that the HCG level is a definitive way to tell if things are ‘good’ or not. I’ve seen people with HCG over 1000 at 4 weeks and of 300 and both resulted in a viable pregnancy 👏
That’s a high result which is a sure sign that your pregnant, congratulations!, now I’m guessing it’s the waiting game until the first scan around 7 weeks to check positioning and heartbeat? 💓

Agree with PP. Was there a reason for the blood test? Usually they'd repeat it so that provides a baseline and then you're looking for the change (with a MC that would be a decline to rule out ectopic or retained tissue). In my first pregnancy I had no bloods for hCG so depends what it's for?

I have had IVF treatment (embryo transfer) so the bloods was just part of the package with my private fertility clinic - they like you to have bloods to confirm pregnancy - - they said was looking ok so I’m not going to worry - scan is booked for 7 weeks time.. I was just wondering that’s all

@Claire5884 I also had IVF and that was also the way they confirmed the pregnancy after the egg transfer, but mine was 14 days after 5 day embryo transfer, my levels were 1695. I had a scan two weeks after that and there’s a healthy growing baby with a heartbeat in there. I really wish you the best of luck, and positive vibes, but your levels look good 💖 try not too worry!

Hi. The only way to know if the hCG level is good is to compare it to a second level, taken two days later.

It's the rate at which it climbs that is significant, not the actual number.

@Kaybee1989 thanks - I am roughly the same bloods was done 15 days post 5 day embryo Transfer - will wait for my scan in a couple of weeks - not going to pay for another blood test (200 a pop) - IVF wasn’t cheap xx

@Claire5884 I don’t blame you not paying for another test, even if it was free it’s not going to give you the peace of mind you’re looking for. I think sometimes the more you test, the more you want to test and always wondering if the number is good enough, and it’s a vicious cycle. At this point it’s really a ‘what will be, will be’ moment, try to relax and look after yourself and find out in a couple of weeks! 💓
