looking for advice or past experience. I am 38.3 weeks 2nd time mum and this evening I have lost my mucus plug the first wipe I did was a much larger blob but didn’t get a pic however since then have had 3 more parts similar to pics.
id say mucus plug but there isn’t really any blood?
I have no other symptoms currently apart from all of a sudden frequent need to wee (more then usual) but not sure if nervous wees. Also the slightest lower back pain but no tightenings again probably looking for anything!
my first born I don’t think I noticed my mucus plug as my waters broke suddenly at 38 weeks.
anyway just wanted to see what others think and does it mean labour could be really near or likely I’ll still be waiting - I have an elective c section booked for 15th as I had a drop in growth so didn’t want me to go past due date and I didn’t want to be induce however if I was to go into spontaneous labour I am going to try natural.
my partner is supposed to be working about an hour and half away tomorrow do you think he should wfh or if no symptoms by morning he should be ok for him to be further away?
please see pics attached sorry if this is TMI.

I never saw mine, but if you’ve not put anything up there I’d guess it can only be the plug and get DH to work from home. Once my waters broke mild but regular contractions began within half an hour - good luck

Lost my mucus plug like this with my first at about 32 weeks. Nothing changed, no signs of prelabour, no change in pregnancy symptoms.
Went into spontaneous labour 39+6
Apparently it grows back or something if I remember my doom scrolling on the subject?
I wouldn't worry though op, I would literally carry on as normal x

The plug can replace itself, so my midwife told me. When I lost mine (and I only noticed it with one child) it was streaked with a bit of blood and all in one. My baby was born two days later.

Losing your mucus plug doesn't really mean a lot. Could still be weeks away from labour.

thank you all for the messages… nothings happened during the night apart from my LO having a temperature so don’t believe my body will let me go into labour as having to keep him off nursery so going to send partner to work too and concentrate getting first born better for now!
