Hi all,
by approx LMP, I am around 5 weeks and 6 days pregnant. I went for a private US today and it wasn’t good news and I’ve had to be referred to early pregnancy unit. I’ve got an appointment for this Thursday for an US there.

Just wondering if anyone has any idea what any of this means?

Just feel so gutted, pregnancy tests have got darker and darker. Not had any bleeding yet :(

I’m sorry to hear this.
I don’t know what it means in your case but The first time I got pregnant, the urine test and blood test came back positive but when it came to do an ultrasound, it showed that implantation had occurred but there was no foetus.
I had to have a D&C and it was later confirmed as a molar pregnancy. All the signs of pregnancy were there (Hcg, sore breasts, no period) but the embryo could never develop into a baby. It was very difficult to accept because I already felt pregnant.
i hope that you manage to see a doctor and get some answers soon. Take care of yourself and don’t lose hope xx

I don’t have any experience with this but didn’t want to read and run.

I’m very sorry your scan didn’t go well. Hopefully someone will be along soon with some helpful advice ❤️

Thankyou everyone. I don’t really have much hope for Thursday now :(

I'm sorry you are going through this. Note that your surname is written twice in the notes, so you might want to ask MNHQ to remove that for you.

I don't work in this field, but do have some experience from various scans.
An anteverted uterus just means your uterus is tipped forward and sits above the bladder- this is the most common position for the uterus.
Each ultrasound machine is different, so one at the private clinic might be more or less sensitive than the hospital one.

Its all so tiny at this stage, that even a few days can make a difference to what can be seen.
EPU might do serial blood tests, to see if the hCG levels are going up or down. They might do the scan, then book you for another in a week or so.

I assume the possibilities are:
-The scan will be fine and they will see more
-It might be a blighted ovum or a molar pregnancy. Neither of which will result in a baby.
-I assume the clinic also checked your tubes, to see that there wasn't another pregnancy outside the uterus, an ectopic?

Just remember that this isn't your fault and you aren't alone Flowers

Thankyou that’s so supportive

I mean I’m no expert in scans but I just feel like it looks an abnormal shape and he was very pessimistic that it’s viable. Even said about it possibly being a miscarriage from a previous cycle? But I’m sure that’s not the case as I didn’t get a positive pregnancy test till a couple of days before my expected period and it’s got stronger since then. I’m sure that wouldn’t happen it it’s a missed miscarriage but I guess I’m not an expert. I will keep you posted on how it goes on Thursday xx

Its unlikely to be from the last cycle i agree. Pregnancy tests do keep getting darker with a missed miscarriage though. So it's either just too early to see anything, is possibly an ectopic, or an early missed miscarriage/blighted ovum.

I'm so sorry op, I had this and it was 4 horrible weeks of waiting and the unknown for it to end in Ectopic pregnancy
😢
Sending love and strength and hoping for the best xx
