If you've had it before, they ofen check earlier because it can show up earlier - dh's cousin had it with all three of her pregnancies and they tested her for the second and third at 16 weeks.

Are you due to see the midwife soon?

i had it at my last pregnancy too and am getting a glucose tolerance test this week as i am 16 weeks. if you have had it before then chances are you will get it again!

They said at my Diabetic clinic it was 29 weeks.

Does it run in your family? - I saw your sis had it too.

Not too early, especially if you've had it before. Ask your m/w for a random blood sugar test, or she may agree to go straight to a GTT.

i had GD with 2 of my pregnancies and as soon as i went to the booking in clinic 12 weeks they gave me a testing kit for me to myself 4 times a day.
then at 16 weeks my blood sugar levels were geting higher so they put me on insulin early
im still on it and the doses get higher every week
baby growing bigger by the day im having a growth scan in 4 weeks (31) wks then
as they are talking about induction earlier now (which is something im going to protest about)
have you got a kit you can test with? maybe got to the paharmacy and have one done its quicker
they took my word for it which was lucky as my normal daily levels were high 12,s
and supposed to be no more than 7 after a meal
i dont think 11 wks is to early for you to notice a change
best always to speak to your mw
good luck let us know how you get on

Now standard to have gtt at 13 and 28 weeks, so must be able to start early. Have you got a test booked?

Had my GD confirmed at 16 weeks. I'm now 19 weeks and off to the hospital today to start on insulin. Really not looking forward to it

It can start pretty much any time in pregnancy...this is my fourth baby and 1st time I've had it. No family history of diabetes either.

Yet another glorious side effect of pregnancy!!!!
