Did your sweat smell bad in first trimester

Sorry for the weird question but about 6-7 days before my period starts my sweat starts smelling really bad (I’m assuming it’s because hormone levels drop) and that’s how I know my period is coming. I’m currently 11 weeks and for the last week I’ve noticed when I’ve been at work and sweat lot more than I do at home my sweat has started smelling the exact same way as when my period is coming. I take progesterone pessaries and haven’t really had many pregnancy symptoms so I wanted to know if this is normal or if I’ve had a miscarriage but not bleeding yet due to progesterone?

I've not particularly heard of this before but the increased sensitivity to smells is a common pregnancy symptom

Everything smelled bad when I was pregnant. Me, DH, the dog 🤢. Even toothpaste. It may be undetectable to anyone else.

I found second trimester I smelt disgusting and sweated so much more , I found the sure deodorant that comes in a little box was great and was the only one that worked .

I have to change deodorant when pregnant to something stronger for this reason! My underarms also became sensitive to the deodorant I previously use...weird! Also carried on postpartum...happy days

Increased sense of smell is a pregnancy symptom that has been linked back to primal times. Basically it's to keep you away from unsafe things and to prevent you eating food that will make you ill. After baby is born it is said to help your body recognise baby scent and create milk.

The sweat thing will continue after baby is born. Your scent becomes stronger thanks to hormones. Again it is linked back to primal instincts and is to allow baby, who will have impaired vision to start with, to smell you. Your scent means safety and food to them. This is one of the reasons my eldest slept with a used pillow case of mine from approx 6 months until 3 years old!

I don't think the sweat really smells different, but everything is experienced as smelling more (and usually worse!) in early pregnancy.

Thank you all for the replies.

I never used to smell like this in my first pregnancy and now worried hormones have dropped (hence I’m sweating like I do when my period is due) and I’m having a missed miscarriage 😞

Just so you know, my eldest is 20 and my youngest two are 18… I still can’t handle the smell of blackcurrant anything because when 7wks pregnant with No1, a kid walked past me in a park and he was drinking a tetrapak with apple and blackcurrant juice the smell made me redecorate a tree.

I stank and was extra sweaty for a few weeks in my first trimester. Still pregnant now!! I felt the same fear - would literally wake up with sweat between my legs

Every pregnancy can be completely different symptom wise.
My second is so different from my first I was convinced they must be a different sex but they're not.

I've never heard of anyone being able to 'smell' a missed miscarriage

I think your smell does change. My second pregnancy I suddenly kept getting ticks on me - never before and never after! Can only put it down to smelling more attractive 😂

On a side note my sense of smell went so sensitive that I had to stop using a particular duvet cover as the smell of it was so horrible!!! Also some foodstuffs and the bin had to be put outside in the shed as just couldn't tolerate them.
