22 weeks, baby been a bit quiet last few days

I've had a very active baby since 17 weeks, have been able to see the kicks from the outside from 20 weeks.

The last few days he's been a bit 'quiet'. The midwife told me recently that things have changed since my last child and we no longer count kicks or expect regular movement until 26 weeks - as long as we feel them move daily, it's fine.

I have felt him daily, but not often at all and really mild, haven't seen anything or felt strong kicks for days.

Would you think this is okay? I'll call the midwife tomorrow but just checking here first until then. Thanks in advance x

Your midwife should have told you that if at any time you feel a change in movements or are worried you are to phone the number they gave you

I had this around same time as you.

MAU shockingly wouldn't see me as 'nothing they could do anyway'

I think DD had flipped round so was kicking into my back.

But please, ring them

I was specifically told not to worry until 26 weeks

Well that's silly of them. You are worried. Call them and see what they say.

They said to come in, they'll check his heartbeat but won't do anything more before 24 weeks, so I'll head down there now.

Glad you’re getting seen. They can only use Sonicaid until 26 weeks, they can’t do the full tracking until then.

I was told 28 weeks with my first born (now 4) despite having a lot of issues with reduced movements throughout the pregnancy.
They really weren't bothered at that stage which really infuriated me at the time.

My DC1 was fine though and is now a healthy 4 year old but I still clearly remember the stress and worry.

Apparently, the 28 (or 26 in your case) weeks thing is because before this stage they still have a lot of room to move and any change in position can change what you feel/ when you feel it. Once in the 3rd trimester, there is a lot less room so it's harder for them to 'hide' or change to another position

All seems fine :) although I do wish they'd do a little more at this stage than just check for the heartbeat.

@sel2223 I remember the anxiety with my first was absolutely awful. I'm much better this time round, hence not rushing down there sooner! And as things would have it, he seems back to his usual active self now 🤦‍♀️ I guess he was just tucked away somewhere 😂

Unfortunately they can’t do anything else. The full tracking with the straps doesn’t work til 26 weeks. I’m 41 weeks and I honestly haven’t had a pattern of movement. It’s been so random throughout.

Pleased all is well!

I was in afew times with my second for movements and she would always go wild once I got there 🙃
