I'm 36 weeks and trying to think of all the prep to do! Still working as long as I can so have to fit all this around that.

For me:
Eating dates
Drinking raspberry leaf tea
Spending time on my birthing ball
Started perineal massage but not keen!
Batch cooking
Swimming and pregnancy yoga
Attend NHS breastfeeding class next week
Order some syringes and try harvesting collostrum

Packing the hospital bags is a priority this weekend

For baby:
Washing baby clothes and bedding
Ordered baby changing unit/drawers
Ordered new mattresses for the cribs we've been given
Tried out the car seat in the car
Assemble the pram

Sitting on my ass because I'm at risk of preterm labour.

Doing some laundry to freshen up the newborn clothes that have been in boxes for 3 years

Trying to work up the courage to figure out what to do with all the bottles we have (1st was EBF, 2nd definitely won't be)

Tidying up the spare room so toddler can use it? Or not...

I'm exhausted just reading your list!

2nd baby here, so I've been seeing some friends but mostly just enjoying having some time alone before having a baby attached again!

MrsA2015 · 03/10/2024 16:40

Redecorating 2 bedrooms and questioning my sanity.

Also raspberry leaf tea and dates daily.

sI’m 39 weeks and I’m on the sofa with films. Don’t forget to chill out once you’ve finished work, and enjoy the peace!

MrsScotland · 03/10/2024 16:52

Hahaha I know, really I'd love to be putting my feet up a bit but also feeling the pressure of stuff to get done! If I didn't run my own company I would be stopping work but the best I can hope for is some slightly shorter days in the office!

Heartburn is super annoying, just want to eat to make it go away!

Working like a maniac (one week to go which takes me to just over 37 weeks)

Trying to renovate a house

Socialising as much as possible

Swimming and walking as much as possible.

Cuddling my cats and telling them that they’ll always be my favourites

It sounds like I need to buy some dates!

Hey @MrsScotland think we were on an old pregnancy after loss thread together?! Glad you're still here, I'm also 36 weeks with DS2... I'm now on mat leave and sooo blimmin' knackered I've spent much of my time lying down while DS1 is at nursery! DH and I had a lovely spa day today (was a 40th bday pressie for me), but kinda wished we'd done it a few weeks ago as I don't think I embraced the luxury in my tired state. Ha

Plans over next couple of weeks include:

  • sorting and washing all the baby clothes
  • buying stuff for, and packing, hospital bag
  • recapping all the labour fun like breathing techniques
  • batch cooking
  • get a hair cut (had to cancel highlights as I had a reaction to the patch test, bloody hormones!)
  • a few lunches with friends if I can stay awake!

Wishing you ladies all the best with the impending arrivals!! x

Hi @Hopingrae yes, I recognised your name straightaway! How funny we are both 36 weeks.

I went on a spa night with the schoolgirls last weekend as we are all 40 this year too, it was lovely but I know what you mean! I also really need a haircut, trying to get new glasses sorted and need to do a bit more on hypnobirthing! It's my husband's birthday tomorrow so we are going out for a special meal and after that, I've said no more big plans or commitments for the rest of the weekends!

@Mitsky I love your cat comment! We have a young dog so she has been getting a lot of cuddles before her world changes!

@Peonies12 films sound amazing, I got home an hour early on Wednesday and watched a Rick Stein on the sofa, was so nice just to have time to do that!

@MrsA2015 redecoration! We had a big list of house jobs to do, worked through most of them but I am fit for nothing now so I admire you!

@2mumlife enjoy! I am sure you don't get a lot of peace in the first instance!

@Whydoeslifesuck I hope you enjoy looking at all the tiny clothes again and rest up as much as poss

@MrsScotland Definitely get the haircut - it'll be the last for awhile! I got mine done the first week I was on mat leave as a priority task 😂
