Hi,
just been told by midwife I need to start aspirin for my whole pregnancy as I have low Papp-A. When I had my daughter 6 years ago the placenta had come away but they didn’t know until she was born because of all the blood I lost So I wonder if I had it then but not picked up.
Anyone had this and been okay?
Ive also read it can be a sign of chromosomal abnormalities which is also making me worried.
ill now be consultant lead and having lots of scans which is positive.

I had low papp-A with my second. Had harmony testing or equivalent and all tested fine. He's now nearly 6 and bright, active, no signs of any issues. Measured larger throughout pregnancy and was a solid 8lbs at 38 weeks when induced as I was a bit nervous having had a ventouse for 9th centile DD. Although not massive he did (and still does) have big shoulders compared with the rest of him.

I'd say it's good to have the monitoring, especially with your past history.

I am 21 weeks with Low PAP A and lots of extra growth scans. Everything looked perfect at my 20 week scan. I was worried initially, but midwife /. consultants don't seem to be at all. Have read lots on here and all went on to have healthy babies.

Thank you both! My HcG also came back very low at adjusted 0.35 and it was 1 with my daughter. Although I’m still low risk I feel that’s extremely love low compared to the “norm”
