9 DPO faint positive, terrified of evap or chemical

Hi everyone,

I am currently 9 DPO, I have testing madness so I just thought I would do a test to get it out of my mind. To my surprise, a vv faint line came up. I had a loss at 10 weeks in July, so I am terrified that it could be only an evap, or maybe a chemical. Is 9 DPO to soon to have a faint line? Any success stories from you ladies where you tested positive as soon as 9 DPO and ended up in a successful pregnancy?

Trying to stop myself from freaking out.

I will also attach a picture of the test

There’s nothing scary about an early positive test that doesn’t determine to outcome of a successful pregnancy. I had a faint line 9dpo and I’m now 26 weeks so don’t worry !xx

@Adamsapple89 thank you. I think I am just scared because in my last pregnancy I only saw a faint line at 14 DPO, although that ended in a miscarriage so I shouldn't take it as a guide

That looks positive - it’s no wonder you are anxious after a loss, but this is why testing early and a lot can cause more stress. I know you won’t! But best to try and keep busy for a couple of days and test again then to reassure yourself. Try to tell yourself what will be will be, and worrying never changed any outcome. But tentative congratulations!

This is exactly why I won't test until I miss a period as I am terrified of picking up a chemical or it being a false positive.
I'd just rather not know and the feeling of a strong unmistakable line is amazing (even though it still doesn't guarantee a successful pregnancy).
I just find the early stages so stressful anyway, I don't want to add more stress with the 'is it isn't it' 'line eyes' thing

Good luck

I only got faint positives at about 14 dpo with both pregnancies-one miscarriage and one im due next week! I didn’t test until the day my period was due. If I were you I’d wait a few days until your period is late; then test again. Unfortunately tests cannot predict outcome

This pregnancy and my previous one I've got positives a week before my period was due, so I guess that's around 10DPO? My previous pregnancy is now 3 years old and I'm 28 weeks with the current pregnancy. I know a lot of people don't like testing before their period is due but in my experience it hasn't resulted in a chemical. Also, yours definitely looks like a positive!

TTC345678 · 02/10/2024 13:17

I know its best to wait, I'm just a very obsessive person in general.
I will try and test the day after tomorrow as waiting until my period needs to come is unbearable as I have long cycles in general. My period isn't due for another 7 days. Normally I think if the tests darken every 2 days enough it will put my mind at ease. As for keeping myself busy I will try my best🤣.

Thank you everyone for you responses!

I come back with an update. Yesterday evening I had quite a few sharp pains and twinging feeling in my uterus area, there were not located on one side, all over the place. No spotting or bleeding. Did anyone else have this early pregnancy? I'm currently 10 DPO - ish.

This is much darker than my 9dpo BFP and I'm now 37+5, congratulations!

@polkadotpixie thank you! Hope this one sticks! Congratulations to you too!🥰
