Hey I’m 26 weeks on Saturday, today my 10 month old kicked me in the stomach while I was changing her not very hard obviously it didn’t hurt much but i did feel it a little there was no pain after and no cramps or bleeding I didn’t think much of it until now should I ring my maternity unit to ask about the anti-d injection as I’m 0- and baby is predicted positive. My maternity hospital is so nonchalant about the injection tbh… I rang when I was 15 or 16 weeks pregnant same situation but that time the kick was a lot harder and I felt it for a few mins after but they said I didn’t need to come in and if I were to bleed or anything I would come in. With my first pregnancy l was going to a different maternity hospital and they were extremely vigilant even the tiniest bump I was to go in but this hospital don’t seen too concerned. Any advice on this ?? Should I ring anyway and ask ? My placenta is in the front this time of that makes any difference I don’t think it does. Tia <3

Yes, you should definitely phone and check. 26 weeks is pretty much the start of the 3rd trimester which is the point when you're most likely to produce antibodies if there is any trauma caused. They probably wouldn't have been worried the previous time as you weren't in the 3rd trimester.

I would ring and check. I had to have anti d multiple times in my last pregnancy. On one occasion one of our dogs jumped up and caught me by accident. It wasn't overly hard, but it was enough that I thought to ring. They did some type of blood test to check, which resulted in them administering the normal dose of anti d, so I think there must be some way the lab can tell if a higher dose is required. To say I played it so safe that pregnancy, I've found I have M-antibodies in this pregnancy which is an added stress. Although that could be completely incidental, I would definitely recommend always asking and advocating for yourself and your baby.
