Hey, I've been having some mild shoulder pain (on & off, paracetamol took away) & cramping in lower tummy (pelvic area) so had a scan today at 4w+3days - no pregnancy was seen, they said it's probably still too early but they found a cyst on my left ovary with fluid in/on ovary aswell. My HCG level was 279. They said they don't no if the fluid is normal or ectopic. Got too go back in 2 days for more HCG blood work. Anyone else had this? I'm absolutely past myself.

Can't comment on the cyst as not had that but that is an extremely early scan. There isn't anything to see at that stage so I'm really surprised they scanned you.

Normally after 5 weeks you would get a gestational sac and that's often the time they can confirm if it's located in the right place. At some point in the 5th week you start to see the yolk sac and fetal pole.
Somewhere between 6 and 7 weeks, that's when you should see an actual embryo and hopefully see a heartbeat for the first time.
