Hello,
Just wondering if anyone experienced the same after their first scan. Went yesterday to get a private scan as couldn't wait till 12 weeks. Was so amazing to see their little heartbeat and watch them wriggling around. The sonography said eveything looked good and baby was actually measuring a week more than anticipated but had quite a large umbilical hernia. She said it would probably dissapear soon but to keep an eye on it. If they are physiological they norallly dissapear around 11/12 weeks. Feeling quite anxious and sad about it. Any advice? Xx

I havent heard of it in utero before, but my son was born 5 weeks early and had an umbilical hernia for the first 9ish months of his life. Eventually it’s either gone down or he’s just grown bigger.

Maybe ask your midwife what it means if it’s still there at the 12 week scan? It might have gone by then though.
