Hi all,

Very anxious so looking for anyone who's maybe gone through this ...

I was found to have a moderate hematoma at around I think 7 weeks, I then that evening had a small bleed but nothing since. I'm now 14 weeks, had my 12 week scan where baby was lovely and active. The hematoma is still there but I think most importantly the baby has outgrown it. Today the midwife text to say consultant (who I've not met/spoken to yet) wants me on aspirin as per my 2 previous pregnancies. I'm very anxious to go on a blood thinner with this blood patch just floating about, I've asked if they can call to discuss.

I was just wondering if anyone had taken aspirin with a hematoma?

Thank you 🙏

I had a large hematoma discovered at a 9 week scan. I was on aspirin and also inject fragmin every single day as an additional blood thinner. It had shrunk by 11 weeks and when I had my 12 week scan at 13w, it had gone. I would have never considered coming off my blood thinners, plus the consultant advised to stay on them.

I had a huge heamatoma, couple of big bleeds. No heamatoma consultant!

Oh I didn’t have a hematoma consultant - I was under the recurrent miscarriage clinic for having 6 miscarriages prior to this pregnancy. That’s the only reason I had a consultant.

Sorry, bad grammar. It's just consultant as I'm consultant lead not one that specialises in hematomas.

Thank you for replying. @Jellybelly888 your reply has put me somewhat at ease.
