Hi guys ,

I went for a scan 12 weeks. Unfortunately I have not had the best of news at a twelve week scan as a first time mum.

I have di George syndrome 22.q 11. It’s affected me mainly with learning disabilities and anxiety, hyperactivity.

i have now been told it’s possible my baby might have it due to fluid being at the back of neck 4.5 mm and also a heart defect 🥲.

has anyone experienced this . Have your children came out severly ill with it or just with a few issues or none at all.

im so worried and my family are trying to tell me I won’t be able to cope and they think I should get rid of the baby if it has got this.

advice needed please

Hi OP, didn't want to read and run.
I'm so sorry you're going through this.

Without knowing you or your partner and your situation, it's impossible to give any real advice but I would hope those around you are coming from a good place and have your best interests at heart.

Will you have more tests?

Good luck.

I just give birth to my baby which he has t21 he had Duodenal atresia
Double bubble also a small hole in his heart but said it will heal on its own ,I did have a amnio done and only found out at 33 weeks pregnant none of scans were showing anything it only showed because it was my growth scan , we then was put in a dilemma they said they could put baby to sleep but I would have to give birth to a still born soon as they said that was in tears or give birth adopt or keep him we did decided family means everything and we come together as a family and decided to have him ,its not end of world so what if your baby behind in things but most kids are so what if he needs extra help most kids do ,that's what I thought anyhow and made best decision the nurses at minute saying he just so cute , you will decided what's best for u x

Hi , thanks for your message so I have 22.q 11 which is de George syndrome . At 12 week scan they found a heart defect and also 4.5 mm of fluid behind babies neck .

this is the reason they have said this , but I’m very annoyed at this coz fluid can mean a whole leap of things they shouldn’t be allowed to suggest they know what’s wrong until after taking bloods,

still waiting on results if I ain’t heart anything by Monday or Tuesday next week then it’s good news I guess but we still need to keep an eye on the fluid and heart defect and get to the bottom of that is x
