First pregnancy scared out my wits

Hi all, just looking for some words of wisdom/advice.

I literally just found out I'm pregnant an hour ago, positive dye test and clear blue digital says 1-2 weeks pregnant.

I am happy but scared, we weren't actively trying but not preventing - I didn't expect it to happen for me easily as I have pcos and thyroid issues (previous thyroid cancer). I'm so scared these factors will affect this pregnancy and suppose I'm just looking maybe for people who have been on the same boat or similar.

Thanks I'm advance for any comments x

@Lynx92 This is my first pregnancy too, but I’m in a different situation. I think being scared or worried is something that we all have in common! It’s something completely new and out of our control and that’s scary. Please don’t worry, take things one step at a time, everything will be okay 💓

I have PCOS and am pregnant and you have nothing to worry about. Go to your GP to confirm your pregnancy, and share your concerns. They can check your bloods and you will be supported with any medical conditions throughout your pregnancy.

Congrats!!!!

I imagine after your booking in appointment you’ll be put under consultant care and they will watch you as close as necessary- more appts or scans maybe? Try not to worry too much, you’ll be advised asap if you have to do anything differently and congratulations!

Don’t worry your body knows exactly what to do! It’s early days, so just keep busy and don’t focus on it too much. Long way to go. In most areas you can self refer online to maternity services and you’ll have a first appointment around 8-10 weeks pregnant, so no rush to do that. I didn’t until about 7 weeks as was paranoid due to previous miscarriage.

I recommend the book 'what to expect when you're expecting' it's excellent and covers so many areas of pregnancy and the fourth trimester, including the feeling scared! Congratulations 🎉

First congrats, make sure you are taking your folic acid . Just take each day as it comes no point in me telling you not to worry it's what we do.
