Any recommendations on where I can buy Xonvea online in the UK?
GP has never heard of it, and clinical pharmacist is saying its not available in my county.

Thanks

Had to Google what it was! There are other anti sickness tablets you could take. Does it have to be that one? I don't know that I'd feel comfy taking something my GP hasn't heard of

Dullblue1234 · 28/09/2024 18:18

@Shahhhh it's the no1 recommendation on the new guidelines and fully endorsed as the only licensed sickness medication for pregnancy.

I've tried cyclizine (does nothing)
Had 10 days of metoclopramide (not allowed that anymore due to risks)
And now on ondansentron but it carries risk in the first trimester 😩

Ah I'm so sorry you've had no luck with anything else! 😩 I know it's so scary when the only option isn't recommended in pregnancy. I pushed through as much as I could before having to try meds, tried promethazine which did nothing but thankfully cyclizine works for me! Hope you can find a resolution love x

I’m in London and I’ve been prescribed this since the first trimester. Sounds crazy you cannot get it ?!

MotiRoller · 28/09/2024 19:03

Also in London and have been able to buy it at a few pharmacies (I actually went to 3 diff ones initially as it was a private prescription and I wanted to make sure they weren’t ripping me off). Boots can order it in.

MrsTerryPratchett · 28/09/2024 19:04

It's a brand name from the looks of it. For B vitamins (available anywhere) and doxylamine which is the active ingredient. Will the doctor prescribe a generic of that?

Dullblue1234 · 28/09/2024 19:17

I'm seeing a midwife tomorrow, so going to really push for options and a way to get it! 😩😩

Where are you that it isn't available in your county? I work in pharmacy (only a dispenser not actual pharmacist) and we get it in (and have for some time) from a national supplier (AAH)

OverTheRainbow18 · 28/09/2024 21:45

I'm in Surrey and was prescribed it by the hospital and have since had a repeat prescription from my GP so the GP should be able to prescribe!

Oxfordshire 🤔
Maybe I need to talk to a different GP at my practice.

You can buy it here. Although I haven't, yet. I found it through an HG Facebook group. Also pregnancy sickness support can advise you
