Anxious about viability scan

After my third frozen transfer I got my postive pregnancy test. I have a viability scan on Monday and feeling quite anxious. I've had sore boob's, but on progynova, progesterone and lubion. I've had the odd metallic taste in my mouth and what seems to be the white pregnancy discharge. Maybe gagged a few times brushing my teeth and feeling a bit teary at times. So far haven't had a nausea feeling, have been feeling quite hungry.
I know each pregnancy is different, I did have nausea with my son, which was 8 years ago.
I'm feeling anxious about going into the scan room, I'm really hoping that everything will be as it should be. I'll be 7 weeks on Monday.

Good luck!

Hi @Rainbowsunshine81 just wanted to say I really empathise. I had a positive test on my 4th embryo transfer, previous 3 all negatives and will also be 7weeks on Monday. My scan is on Thursday.

i feel exactly the same, very anxious. My strategies are trying to keep as busy and distracted as possible and trying to limit time spent on the internet. So far mixed results.

good luck on Monday, really hope it all goes well.

Wishing you luck. I remember the torturous wait well. No symptoms doesn't mean anything - mine came with avengance around 8 weeks. Enjoy it while it lasts! Hope all goes well x

Quickdraw23 · 28/09/2024 13:34

Hi @SErunner i remember you from a previous thread last year. Congratulations!

@sel2223 Thank you ❤️

Hi @Quickdraw23 👋 I recognise your name too. We've been incredibly lucky and after having our daughter via IVF in 2020 and lots of failed rounds since for a sibling, I miraculously conceived naturally in June having stopped treatment and worked on moving forwards as a 3. Currently 16 weeks and all looking okay 🤞 the wait for the scan was just as bad this time!

So pleased to hear you've had a positive test. Will hope your scan goes well too x

Rainbowsunshine81 · 28/09/2024 13:54

@Quickdraw23 It's so hard isn't it? I've been trying to keep occupied and remain positive. I have my son who keeps me busy aswell.
I know about the Internet, I do try and not read too much on there, though it is hard sometimes.

Thank you ❤️ good luck for Thursday ❤️

Congratulations !! It certainly sounds like symptoms! Viability scan sounds so awful, should be happy scan or something lovely - good luck

Rainbowsunshine81 · 28/09/2024 13:57

@SErunner Thank you ❤️ I think because I had the nausea with my son, it gave me some reassurance. I know each pregnancy can be different. Xx

I am currently 23 weeks pregnant with our first, much longed-for IVF baby. All going well so far, thank god.
I can completely empathise with your anxiety, I felt like the three weeks between getting the positive test and having the viability scan were the longest of my life!
I suffer from high anxiety levels at the best of times but, since becoming pregnant, I have been a complete nervous wreck, worrying and over-thinking absolutely everything. I also had very few symptoms early on, in fact, with the exception of chronic constipation and a recurrent UTI, I've had no other significant symptoms throughout my pregnancy. I know I should have been glad not to suffer from morning sickness, but it would have helped put my mind at rest as I didn't really start to feel pregnant until a couple of weeks ago when my bump suddenly appeared and I started to feel baby moving.
Wishing you all the best and sending lots of good wishes to you.

@FloofPaws I'm trying to be positive and have positive thoughts. Definitely something different than called a viability scan. Thank you ❤️

@Everlore Congratulations to you ❤️ definitely the longest time between getting a positive test and then going for your scan.
I think because of previous experiences having scans makes me feel really anxious. Makes you more aware of things, every little twinge, or backache has you thinking, plus I have noticed some constipation, windy pains and headaches.
I think because I had nausea with my son it gave me some reassurance, you can't win really. Thank you, really means a lot 💓

Congratulations! I totally get your nerves.

Try to remember symptoms do not tell you if a pregnancy is viable or not. I had the opposite, still had strong nausea and vomiting when my baby had already died and I was waiting for surgery for my miscarriage.

The whole world of pregnancy is hard, and even harder when you've had to go through a lot to get there. I really hope everything is good news at your scan x

Rainbowsunshine81 · 28/09/2024 20:29

@moosey89 Thank you ❤️ I'm really sorry to hear what happened. I myself have been there.
It is a hard journey to get to this point. Thank you ❤️
