Confused?

I had a positive pregnancy test 2 weeks ago.
the first day of my last period was 13th August.
i had an internal scan at Monday 23rd September and they saw nothing.
I have had my bloods taken and I’m currently siting on a hcg level of 490.
im confused as to why nothing was seen on the scan ?

I would anticipate that you’ve had a very early pregnancy loss, and your hcg levels are still returning to normal. But it’s also possible if you have long cycles / ovulate late that it’s just too early to see anything. Your hcg is low though if you were testing positive 2 weeks ago

Have they suggested repeating your scan / bloods to give you some clarity?

Have they ruled out anything like an ectopic?

They have said my HCG is rising it’s doubled in the space of 2days , no ectopic as no other symptoms and no bleeding. The nurse did say that it could just be that I ovulated late and it’s to early to see anything

I also did a pregnancy test this evening and it was still positive.

If your beta HCG is doubling then that is usually indicative of a continuing pregnancy so the most likely outcome is that your dates aren’t what you think and that at your next scan they should see an intrauterine pregnancy. Good luck

Yes, if you're not tracking then it's certainly possible you ovulated late - I did and am about 12 days behind what LMP would say I was (currently 14 weeks pregnant and all going well so fast).

When you say the scan picked up nothing, was there at least a gestational sac?

You got a BFP 2 weeks ago, so, assuming you were at least a week dpo wien you tested, that would make you minimum 5 weeks.

I believe she said there was a pregnancy sack/cyst on my right overy and that the lining of my womb was very thick but that was all.
im having another scan Monday and they were going to do more bloods today but because its doubled in 2 days (I was about 10 off it doubling) she said that she won’t scan until Monday.

You will test positive as long as there is hcg in your system. If your hcg has doubled then you are likely very very early, as wouldn’t be doubling if you’d had a loss already. Are you sure it was 2 weeks ago that you tested positive initially?
