Recurring thrush

Does anyone have experience with recurring thrush?

After a miscarriage earlier this year, I started getting thrush every month. I rarely had it before. I’m now almost 12 weeks pregnant and it’s come back with a vengeance!

It is definitely thrush as i have been tested for it. STI checks all clear.

I cannot stand the constant itching, discomfort and heavy yellow discharge. Thankfully there is no smell but the discharge is non stop. I’ve tried everything they recommend - non bio and non perfumer washing powder, not wearing tight fit clothes, only washing down there with water etc.

Can anyone please suggest ways to prevent it? I can’t have another 6 months of this! Anything you tried, I’m prepared to try.

thanks ladies

You often need a course of pessaries to get rid of thrush in pregnancy. Has the gp prescribed anything?

A course of pessaries to treat the thrush and then start a course of probiotics, oral and ideally in pessary format too (but in the EU these have just been classified as a medical device so they’ve been taken off the market until the manufacturers submit more data - not sure what the situation is in the UK. I bought some from the US and had them shipped over!)
When you have thrush you need to use a soap with the right ph level - the brand Saugella in France makes this (the green bottle). And when you don’t have thrush, wash only with water.
Also make sure the toilet paper, sanitary pads and tampons you are buying are not perfumed! It’s unbelievable that companies are allowed to make these products with synthetic perfumes that have been linked to fertility problems and completely disrupt the vaginal microbiome but it’s sadly true…
