If sonographer offers to reveal sex at 14 week scan…

Hi! Probably a daft question, but here goes:

I just had a private scan at 13+5. Sonographer asked if I wanted to know baby’s sex. I said no, as I was going to try and not find out this time (already have a boy and a girl and really don’t mind what we have for the final installment).

But, now I keep thinking they must have only been sure at this early stage of baby is a boy? Or am I off the mark here? Does anyone know? I’m itching to call them and say I’ve changed my mind - but I caved and found out with the other two and was trying so hard not to this time! 😂

😂 this happened to me!! I wasn’t going to find out, but they asked the same thing thing and I said no I didn’t want to know. Then a split second later, said, ok I will, it’s obviously a boy then. The sonographer laughed and confirmed it was a boy!! It was a boy!!

Ahhh thank you! I am so terrible at surprises in all areas of my life. I’m going to lock my phone away and not call them, and maybe anaesthetise myself for the 20w scan!

You are wrong in thinking they must have known it was a boy.

I had extra scans because of medical conditions. The tech was able to show us the very clear girl image and said those were actually easier to read early.

Oh this is really interesting to know, thank you! Was this as early as 13/14 weeks?

It’s been a long time, but I think it was the one I had at 12/13 weeks?

I had a truly ridiculous number of detailed scans because it was a high risk pregnancy so they kind of blur together

I could tell on my 12 week scan from baby #3 onwards as I knew what to look for...all girls....
