Gender scan at 15 weeks?

Hi! We're desperate to know if our baby is a boy or girl (we don't care and would love either, we just want to know) and the private scan clinic near us offers 15 week scan. Has anyone had this and successfully been able to tell?

I'm also a bigger girl so, wondering if that will make things more difficult!

I had one at 11 weeks ( private scan not for gender but asked anyway)

She said probably girl but couldn't guarantee

You could have a Harmony blood test (around £500) which will check the baby's DNA for problems, and as a bonus you'll find out the sex?

Sex, not gender.

Sex is correct, we’re simply using correct terminology. Very important. Just wait for 20 week scan, and remember it’s never guaranteed

I had a private scan at 15 weeks both pregnancies and the sonographer could clearly tell. I had already found out via the NIPT test at 10 weeks which is more accurate but depending on the position of the baby it should be clear by 15 weeks.

I simply used the name of the scan that is listed. It's literally the name of the scan. No offence intended. But thanks. We'll go for the scan and see what happens.

I had a GENDER scan at 15 weeks for all three of my boys and they were correct every time! Congrats btw

I waited til 16wks as had a higher bmi, somewhere did offer at 15 but advised against if bigger. Enjoy! I loved knowing this time after 2 surprises :) All gorgeous boys 😍

I went for a private scan at 16wks5, said girl and was confirmed at my 20 week nhs scan ☺️

I had one at 16 weeks and he was very clearly a boy.

I had a GENDER scan at 15 weeks and was very clear. I think it will just depend on babies position.
I think they say if larger drink plenty of water to lift fill the bladder and lift the the baby up.

I had a GENDER scan too but at 16 weeks and was very clear.

We had ours at 14 weeks, she was very sure it was a boy and it is (well, he hasn't been born yet but we have seen his anatomy many times on scans!) They will definitely be able to tell at your gestation, so exciting! X

Go get a sneak peak test done - much more reliable than the scans to tell you as it tests for male/female chromosomes. ☺️

If you have a higher bmi most places recommend you wait until at least 16 weeks.

I had one for both pregnancies at 15 weeks and both were correct 😊

An NIPT blood test will accurately tell you the sex and can be done from 10 weeks pregnant. Better than a scan if you've got the funds.

I also had a gender scan (they don't call them sex scans around here...) at 14 weeks both time and they were correct.

As long as reviews are good I'd go for it if you're happy to. Nothing is ever 100% but they're usually correct for the vast majority.
