I cried at my midwife appointment

Gosh I'm so embarrassed. I had my 10 week booking appointment this morning and the MW started asking me about mental health and anxiety etc and I just lost it and started sobbing to the point where I could barely speak.
Background I had a miscarriage at 11 weeks a few months ago and felt very ready to try again, but now that I'm approaching that 11 week mark again it just was really painful to talk about how I'm doing. I never had any MH problems in the past but this has really shaken me.

She was very nice but I hate crying in front of people.
Has anyone else ever done this lol?? Make me feel better with your stories please 😂

of course you cried.

and you won't be the first nor the last to do so !

it's the worry that it may happen again, you may cry at 11 weeks and again at 12 weeks.

you may not relax until baby is safely in your arms.

can you come back and let us know when you've had your 12 week scan

Meant to come back sooner - had my 12 week scan (and then another private scan at 14.5 weeks) all is looking good so far :) have my next midwife appointment next week so let's see if I get through this one without crying!

I had a total meltdown in front of my entire antenatal class on the week we covered emergency c sections.

It was very embarrassing at the time, but pregnancy hormones + the anxiety of pregnancy (especially when you've struggled to conceive or had losses) can be so overwhelming.

I would try to put it out of your mind, you won't be the first and you won't be the last, they will have seen all sorts.

Wishing you so much luck with your pregnancy
