Hi all,

Does anybody have any recommendations of where to get some nice maternity pyjamas from that aren't really expensive?
When I'm searching I'm getting results for Next, Seraphine, JoJo etc but they're all really expensive!

I've looked on asda and Sainsbury's but can't see any

Thanks x

Check out Primark. The difference in quality between primark and say next is… Next is a cotton material, much more breathable. primark are polyester, so if you’re prone to sweat, this will make you even warmer. If you’re not, then primark should work well.

I just got regular pjs in a couple size bigger with a drawstring, and that's working well for me and I think be handy for post birth too.

I've got some pyjamas from Tesco in a size up. Not ideal though as have to wear them under the bump and I don't like the feeling of pressure there.
I've been looking at maternity pyjamas with an over bump panel but like you said they're expensive. I might ask for some for my birthday - there's some nice looking ones from Chelsea Peers (I think, without checking)

Looks like there are quite a few JoJo ones on Vinted if you’d be happy with second hand?

I've got these, love them but they are only in stock in a size 16-18 now - I would have ordered another pair if I could!

New look I hit mine when I was pregnant with my youngest x

I loved my 100% cotton ones from Next but if those don't work for you try Happy Mama on Amazon.

I had a few pairs from asos I loved. Wore them way past pregnancy. Got gifted chelsea peers maternity set but the fit was awful and I the normal fitted much better even with a bump.

Nat6999 · 25/09/2024 05:00

I had some from Primark, a couple of sizes bigger, I wore them for a couple of years after as well.

Depends what you consider really expensive, but I got some lovely summer ones from Chelsea Peers - really light fabric and a lovely soft over bump panel, think they were £40ish but I've had loads of wear out of them so worth it for me. They do long sleeve/trouser sets for cooler weather too. Pyjamas were the first thing where I switched to maternity wear, I couldn't stand them feeling tight when I was trying to sleep.

I've also got a couple of pairs of Seraphine pyjamas which will see me through postpartum as well as they're designed for nursing, so I figure I'll get my money's worth out of those over time. You're right that Seraphine are pricey though - worth keeping an eye out for their offers, they sometimes do deals like 20% off everything and often have a sale on too.

I loved Frugi for pregnancy pj's, and still wear them post pregnancy. And they are great for breastfeeding.
Have a look on Vinted or eBay, or try to grab a pair from their sale, you can usualy get them at a really good price.

I have these ones and love them! I bought one size bigger to make sure they were really comfortable.

I can imagine these would also be really comfortable, and you can use them as either daytime or nightwear

I’ve got some which are Chelsea peers (bought in JL I think) and some which are frugi (a present, but I assume expensive). I am still wearing them all at 6 months PP so I’ve had my use out of them…

BarbaraHoward · 25/09/2024 19:49

I had lovely ones from Dunnes Stores here in Ireland (can't find them now with a quick Google), but like others I wore them for years - two babies worth of pregnancies and night feeds and probably a bit longer. If you see ones you like I wouldn't be afraid to splash out.

CheeseWisely · 25/09/2024 19:49

I wasn't huge in pregnancy but I got some cotton regular pyjamas from M&S in a size bigger than I usually am. Drawstring waist went under the bump and I just left the last couple of buttons on the top unfastened. Very handy to have the button through top for breastfeeding.

If you plan to keep wearing them for a bit after birth then get 100% cotton. The night sweats are intense!
