Nervous for first scan

This is my first pregnancy and I’ve got my first scan in a week. I’ve been feeling pretty relaxed thus far (bar battling nausea, sickness and acid reflux) but I’m suddenly nervous that we’ll find out the pregnancy hasn’t progressed/some other bad news. Anyone else get the scaries before their first scan?

Very normal! I didn’t have any symptoms apart from fatigue so was really nervous going to my 12 week scan for my first. Still nervous second time around but I knew that it was normal for me not to have sickness etc.

After the 12 week I was briefly reassured before I started worrying about the next one!

I was like this too as soon as my sickness reduced at 10 weeks. Completely normal to be anxious when it means so much to you. My experience of motherhood has been worry, relief and then find the next thing to worry about! I know it's hard but try not to worry about it as you really can't control it.

Thanks @bzarda & @User79853257976

Seems to be a common theme - waves of anxiety as major milestones come up! Think I’m also nervous as we’ve not told my fiancé’s parents yet and I’m so excited to tell them but need everything to go well first

Hi, congratulations mama! Don't worry it's completely normal. Every single scan I had (there was a lot due to diabetes), must have been about 10 in total, I was the same everytime convinced they would tell me there's no heartbeat or something but it was all fine. Good luck
