Positive Test?

Hi all I hope someone can help me out as I’m worried sick….
I took these tests all on separate days, in the morning…
I happened to see an older male “on call doctor” at the walk in as I was getting cramps and someone scared me into thinking it could be ectopic pregnancy, as I said I had some cramps and muscle aches in stomach…
I’ve never been pregnant before don’t know what to expect….
The doctor took a pre sample and went off and came back and told me I was not pregnant after doing a test… it was about 11/12 at night (previous drinking lots of water before I left as they advised)….. I was absolutely devastated he said it could of been a false negative but he said none of the below tests are positive as they are not the same colour as the original line…

can someone help me please as I’ve told my partner I’m pregnant and I feel so stupid! If I am I’m about 3 weeks if that so still early but could these be false positives as he says ?
Thank you I’m worried sick

I mean they look pretty positive to me

AmyMx · 22/09/2024 12:20

Everyone I spoke to has told me they’re positive I’m just early but now I’m terrified that I’ve told my partner and I’m not even pregnant 😭

A doctor told you none of the tests in the photos are positive? They either need their eyes tested or need educating on how to read a pregnancy test. The test line doesn't need to be as dark in colour as the control line for you to be pregnant. ALL of these tests are clearly positive, you are not being stupid.

AmyMx · 22/09/2024 12:22

Thank you! I burst out crying in there he was so rude he just said well I’m sorry but it was negative and you must of had a fake positive. I said I’ve done 6 tests I don’t get how they could all be fake…. Now I’m so scared to do anymore such anxiety and he said you need a blood test

The doctor sounds clueless! They do not have to be as dark as the control line to be positive, that's basic knowledge that a doctor should know. They look very positive to me

This is correct!
the lines don’t have to Match in colour. I also think the advice on drinking lots of water pre pregnancy test is incorrect.
to get a more accurate reading they suggest to take a test when your urine is less diluted.

im sorry OP, but these tests look l exactly like mine did and mine were positive.

If you think your about 3 weeks pregnant could you get a digital test? So you can see it in words?
Or contact the GP and they can arrange a blood test. If you explain your situation

AmyMx · 22/09/2024 12:25

Thank you. I don’t know what to expect in the past I’ve only ever had clear as day negatives, I have not slept at all, I just felt so stupid when he came back as said “your not even pregnant”….

All these tests look clearly pregnant to me , I’m so sorry the doctor was an absolute knob. Get yourself another maybe digital test today and put your mind at ease. Morning pee would be better x

AmyMx · 22/09/2024 12:27

Thank You, I might get a digital although now I’m just so nervous that it’s going to be negative!!

I think in this situation you’re not the stupid one!
it may well of come back “negative” if you had drunk a ton of water beforehand

readyforroundthree · 22/09/2024 12:29

I assure you Op, your tests are positive.
Are you late on your period? As others have said, get a digital and then it will very clearly say.
Early pregnancy cramps are very common and often feel like period pains, so what you are experiencing isn't unusual. If you haven't been pregnant before I understand you must be full of anxiety, you poor thing.

ClementineSatsuma · 22/09/2024 12:33

Unfortunately doctors get it wrong too.

This doctor needs a lesson on how to read early pregnancy tests.

As someone who's taken at least 500 tests, yours are positive.

They need to have a line (even the faintest line) within 5 minutes to be positive.
If these showed up positive within the time frame, congratulations are in order!

And you should maybe email the doctor's clinic to suggest he updates his knowledge on early pregnancy tests.

Thank you 🫶🏻xxx

Thank you!! It showed up after 2/3 minutes I timed it because he’s made me feel like I’m stupid… yes I wanted to complain so bad as I walked out in tears but I just wanted to get home.

Hey , thank you for commenting. Yeah I am now around 7 days late. They are very mild cramps more like achy but I’ve never ever experienced it so I have l no idea what to expect and just wanted some re assurance from the doctors as someone said about ectopic pregnancy and then he came out with all of that it was traumatic 😬🤣x

OP posts:
AmyMx · 22/09/2024 12:46

Thank you it’s so overwhelming so may emotions I’ve never even had the faintest of lines so I just felt horrific when he said “you aren’t even pregnant “ xx

Cramps are pretty normal in pregnancy - don’t worry! Congratulations 🥳

Spomb · 22/09/2024 13:33

Did you do these tests after the doctor did a test and said it was negative? Or have you done tests previously and then a doctor did a test and the one he did was negative?

AmyMx · 22/09/2024 13:34

So the pic with the 3 test and the 1 on it’s own were before hand then the clear blue and cheap test was this morning… that’s why I’m so confused as the lines are there this morning x

It’s very confusing if the doctor’s test was negative. I would do a week indicator digital and you should get a more reassuring result!

Tadpolecat · 22/09/2024 14:06

All those tests look positive. What an ignorant doctor!

TheShellBeach · 22/09/2024 14:10

The tests doctors use aren't very good.
The NHS buys cheap ones.

Your doctor is an idiot, and you're definitely pregnant.

Don't worry about the cramps. They're normal.

Congratulations!
