Is there a way to get baby to shift position? TMI warning…!

I’m 27 weeks and sometime over the past week, baby has got themselves into a position where every time they kick, I need to poo with significant urgency Blush

This is very impractical at work, as I will be mid-consultation with a patient when they kick and obviously can’t just get up and run to the toilet!

Is there a safe method of getting them to adjust themselves a tiny bit so they aren’t stomping on my bowel? Or just stay in close range of a toilet and hope they shift over again before Monday?!

Not rely, you can’t control their position! At 27 weeks they have space to move around a lot. If it helps, they’ll switch positions less as they grow.

You could ask your midwife what position this likely means they are in, and she might have tips for you. There’s also Spinning Babies website, which has lots of positions and stretches to try to help babies get into optimal position. Definitely speak to midwife though, not really something you want to just cope with for next 10 weeks or so!! Good luck !
