Pregnancy talk

I’m the 4th person pregnant in work. No one knows apart from my two managers. The pregnancy chat among the other 3 can get a bit overwhelming for me and so I sometimes prefer to avoid it. I was tired and pretty grumpy today and it was draining to listen to. I of course am delighted and excited to be pregnant. I am pretty shy and awkward person so I don’t know if this is a factor. I can talk to my manager pretty comfortable about it but prefer to focus on work sometimes. Am I being an asshole

No, some people go on and on about pregnancy as if they're the only person to ever experience. I find it boring too. Earphones?!

Do you not all have work to do? Sounds like it could be insensitive if there are others in your workplace who are struggling to conceive or have had miscarriages. I've been conscious to not bring up my pregnancy at work unless someone has asked me first.

This is what I thought. I did struggle to conceive and it took us 6 months and found out I was pregnant just over a month ago. I try and not get involved in their conversations and they don’t know anyway so easier for me to zone out. I just don’t want them asking me a load of personal questions when they eventually find out. My manager has been fantastic and I can confide in him. He even recommended me a book for my husband. They even made a joke the other day because there was a strong smell of garlic and I went ‘ooh that’s strong’ and they went ‘you trying to tell us something?’ It really got me angry as I felt so uncomfortable. Maybe they meant no harm but the whole world doesn’t revolve around being pregnant. Maybe I’m just being over sensitive with hormones.
