Positive pregnancy test but negative Clear Blue Digital?

Hi all,

I realised last night that I am a few days late for my period (not super late but I'm usually very predictable), so I did a test as I had one in the cupboard. It was just a cheap store brand one and seems positive
I raced out to the shop in the morning and bought a Clear Blue Digital test - the one that tells you how many weeks you are.
This has come back Not Pregnant?!

I'm so confused and stressed out!
I'm about 10 months PP with my second and was not looking to get pregnant right now. We use condoms but they're not 100% effective I suppose.

I really need to figure out what's going on as I've had 2 c-sections and don't think it's healthy for me to get pregnant so soon after!!

Freaking out if you can't tell

Adding the photos.. the one of the cheap test on it's own was taken last night.. strangely the test line looks stronger than the control?! It looks different now (as you can see next to the clear blue)

Thanks in advance x

What was the miu of each test? Could be the clear blue is less sensitive.

Sorry I'm not sure what miu is? Please could you explain?

Pregnancy tests measure their sensitivity using miu! Digital tests tend to need a higher level of HCG (the hormone your body produces when pregnant, if it's early ie if you've not long ovulated and you've conceived then HCG will be low and might not be picked up on tests yet)

For example, I think most digital tests need 25mui of HCG to pick up a positive. Dip/strip tests vary, you can get first response early ones that only need 6mui so they will pick up a pregnancy earlier than a digital which needs 25! I hope this makes sense

I'm not sure I'd trust that test, it's flooded. And you can't trust the result that appears after the time it says on the packet.

I also agree with @Peonies12 you find the cheaper tests can flood like this sometimes when the background doesn't go white and stays pink. I don't think I'd trust it either. Can you get another strip test?

Thanks all.
I don't have any more tests and can't get to the shop until this evening.. maybe I'll just wait a couple more days and see if my period arrives! Will try not tear my hair out until then

Yes the first one looks flooded which would make it invalid.
