Low iron, high heart rate in third trimester

30 weeks with baby number 2.
My ferritin was 16 at my 12 week appointment, I felt fine but was started on iron tablets, at 28 weeks it had dropped to 6, so the tablets have been increased. I'm feeling increasingly breathless, weak and exhausted, in my last pregnancy I was climbing, running and doing water sports well into my third trimester, I actually ran until 10 days overdue. But this is something else, I was just walking slowly home from the school run and my watch said my heart rate was 152! And I just feel terrible. It feels impossible to just do every- day activities. Aside from the normal aches and tiredness from pregnancy, this is another level. It's like I can't breathe almost.
Anyone else experienced this? I'm wondering whether I'd benefit/ qualify for an iron transfusion.
I take the tablets on an empty stomach with a glass of juice.

I could have written this myself! I feel exactly the same! I have been put on to two tablets a day, I really struggle with them they make me so feel constantly sick. I asked about the infusion, she said if my ferritin was low at my next blood test (two weeks time) they would put it to my consultant as a recommendation. I am also almost 29 weeks - thinking the infusion has got to be better than the tablets?

Oh interesting. I'm getting mine tested on Wednesday, I'll be 31 weeks then. It's so hard when you're feeling so rough, especially running around after a toddler!
