12 week scan at 10.5 weeks

Based on my LMP I would be 11 weeks 6 days for the date I’ve got my 12 week scan booked in, but my ovulation date would make me 10 weeks 4 days on the scan day. I’ve had 2 early scans and they both measured in line with my ovulation date rather than LMP.
I guess my question is - if I go for my 12 week scan and baby does measure closer to 10 weeks 4 days than 12 weeks, what would happen?

This happened to me and I went back two weeks later for another scan ☺️

If they cannot do the 12 weeks checks and measurements they will booked you in for a rescan. Or you could call up and explain your dates and they can offer you a later date. My 12 week scan was booked closer to 14 weeks. I didn’t want to wait that long so I called them and said I couldn’t make that date and they gave me a week earlier

The ‘12 week scan’ is done between 10 weeks and 14 weeks

Hi
if you’re measuring behind 12 weeks they will call you back so they can do the relevant checks. The scan isn’t done between 10-12 weeks it’s need to be as close to 12 weeks as possible as they have certain markers to check for. I was called back as I was 11+2 and there were certain things (I’m not sure what) they couldn’t check x

Ovulation date much more accurate than LMP

I was 11 weeks 3 days with my second baby and I remember the sonographer saying that she was just able to get the measurements that she needed. If they hadn’t been able to they would have just rebooked for a week or two later. Wouldn’t worry - depends on whether you want to see the baby twice in a week!

I have a long follicular phase (+2 weeks) so I knew my 12 week scan would actually be approx. 10+1. I told the booking team and my midwife about this and they both said to just go in for it. Lo and behold, I was dated at 10+1 and told I needed to come back at 12 weeks for a rescan as they can't get all the measurements until between 12 and 14 weeks. Quite normal. Smile
