I have irregular periods between 27-49 I’ve just posted a photo of a test that had two lines. But not pregnant on clear blue. Someone asked on the post how strong the test are so I’ve just looked on the box and realised I bought menopause tests.
im so angry and upset at myself I got so happy and excited and now it feels like I’ve lost something. Is it possible that it can possibly predict a tiny bit?

No OP menopause tests do not predict pregnancy I’m sorry.

Sorry no it's FSH not HCG that the tests measure.

At 49 if you really want a baby I would be looking at private IVF with a donor egg/embryo as the only realistic option.

I think OP might have meant 27-49 days, as in cycle length!

Oh OP, I'm so sorry. What a way to make that discovery...

Looking those tests up, they don't test for HCG, but FSH. They do vary through the month, so RCOG don't recommend this type of test, but it isn't flagging a pregnancy.

MonsteraMama · 19/09/2024 14:42

They test for a completely different hormone so no, it couldn't show a pregnancy. Must've been an emotional rollercoaster for you, I'm sorry 💐

Just here to send a hug and say I'm so sorry OP, I can imagine you were so angry at yourself but it's an easy mistake to make! Please be kind to yourself xxx
