Having a induction on the 21st scared to death as I know baby isn't well he got down syndrome also Duodenal atresia
Double bubble and they don't know if his bum hole is closed or open and with me got oc and kidneys are inflamed with loads of fluid on them they said they need to do a plan whatever that means , I just don't want anything else popping up as I only found out he had down syndrome at 33 weeks and was put in dilemma because hospital said I could end pregnancy but still give birth to a still born that was a no no in end carried on with pregnancy, I am dreading it don't know if anything else will go wrong x

I'm sorry, that all sounds so stressful! After baby is here though hopefully you will have a better idea of how he is doing and the doctors will be able to work on him straight away if they know some of the problems he's likely to have already. Labour is scary enough without knowing that your baby is unwell though so sending you lots of good wishes and hope that it all goes as smoothly as possible!

TheShellBeach · 17/09/2024 15:22

Sending you love and strength, @WiseDog that all sounds terrifying.
Is the baby going to have emergency surgery immediately after he's born?

wheretoyougonow · 17/09/2024 15:26

You have had so much to process- I'm really not surprised you are stressed. As you are being induced you will have a whole medical team on standby waiting for your little one to make their entrance.

They already know the complications so will have a plan in place.

I'm sure it's going to be a roller coaster of emotions for you but you can and will do it.
There is a Downs Syndrome Association who you can call who maybe able to offer some support and more practical advice. Their number on 0333 1212 300.

I hope it goes as smoothly as it can 💐

WiseDog · 17/09/2024 15:49

@TheShellBeach yeah he's needs surgery within 24 hours they said and yeah @wheretoyougonow there medical doctors on standby as they don't know if he will OK yet ,I am being induced on the 21st approaching fast this week ,don't really care about myself just want baby be OK x

Will someone be with you for the induction?

WiseDog · 18/09/2024 00:31

@TheShellBeach no hun not my 1st got 3 kids this is 4th but there's 21 years difference between this one and youngest so starting again still with the same dad x my hubby is going to be there after he finishes work and eldest daughter coming with me to hospital so not alone ,think its just the thought anything can go wrong and what been through already x

Can I just give you a big hug. I'm 31 weeks and my baby doesn't have nasal passages, so I know what you're going through and how scared you must be.

Have you got family support around you? Mine has been completely invaluable. My uncle gave me a piece of encouragement that I'm going to pass to you.

"You can do this. You're strong enough"
